MAC Fix + | The Review

MAC Fix + was definitely one of ‘the blogger made me buy it’ purchases, but I feel as though I’ve been using it long enough to give you my honest opinion on it. Fix + is part of the prep and prime range and retails for £17.00 for 100ml of product. MAC say ‘Fix + is a lightweight, mineral rich finishing mist that refreshes the skin and finishes makeup.’

Fix + is the first high end skin refresher/finishing mist I have tried, and I have to say I have been rather impressed. It has a really soft grapefruit scent which is refreshing when sprayed onto the skin. I like to use this after cleansing and toning to give my skin a little moisture boost.

Fix + is a real multi-tasker! I love using it to fix my makeup in place. It’s fantastic for this as it really takes away that powdery look when you’ve applied a little too much powder. As I’ve already said it gives your skin a moisture boost, so it’s great for toning down matte foundation/powders. I use it for this purpose on an almost daily basis.

On top of this, Fix + is also great for intensifying eye shadows and pigments. I like using this when I am using very glittery/shimmery shadows. It really amplifies the impact of the eye shadow and. I just give my brush a quick spritz and that’s all that’s needed. I also give my beauty blender a little spritz to make it extra damp before applying my foundation.

So to summarise, MAC Fix + is definitely worth the hype and the high end price tag. It’s the most versatile face spray I’ve tried. I’ve been using this bottle for 2 months and I’ve still got about 60% product left, so I think it’s very well priced. I love the way it makes my skin feel and I will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out.

  1. I use the urban decay setting spray but I’m tempted to pick up this. The fact that it’s 100ml is perfect as I can travel with it whereas the UD one is a bigger size so it’s a no go.

      1. I like it but it is the only one I’ve tried so I have nothing to compare it against. I find it does take that chalky look away and my makeup does last longer with it.
