Mini Makeup Geek Haul | Completing my Z palette!

Ohhh Makeup Geek, you have well and truly got me hooked. After receiving a few eyeshadow pans for my birthday (Check out my What I got for my Birthday post here) – I only had three spaces left in my Z palette and I could not resist. I decided to choose three more shades, with the view of choosing colours which would complement the shades I already have. I must admit in these photos these three shadows look kind of similar (especially the swatches, so my apologies for that), but they are very different in person!

Clockwise from the top – Twilight, Latte & Purely Naked.

Twilight (shimmer) – Twilight is a gorgeous mauve/lilac shimmer. The shimmer is very fine so it’s quite day time appropriate. I really love the shade as it’s quite neutral so works well with my pale skin.

Latte (semi matte) – Latte is a medium brown, I think this is meant to be matte but it does have a few flecks of shimmer running through it. I really like the colour of this shade but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be as pigmented as the other shades I’ve tried. I’m sure I will get plenty of use from Latte as I’m really lacking medium browns in my collection.

Purely Naked (shimmer) – I bought this based on a recommendation from the lovely Emmy from EmmysBeautyCave, she raves about Purely Naked a lot! It’s a neutral light brown with a subtle shimmer. I think this shade will look beautiful dusted across the entire lid.

L – R Twilight, Purely Naked, Latte.

I’m very pleased with these shades as they definitely fill gaps that I was lacking in my palette. They are all colours I know I will wear on a daily basis and seem like they will be very easy to work with. I’d highly recommend checking out Makeup Geek if you are looking to try some new eyeshadows, as I’ve really enjoyed creating my own custom palette. At £4.95 the eye shadows are incredibly good value, I’ve not found another eyeshadow that compares in the drugstore. Some of the MUG shadows are actually on par with MAC in my opinion, so they are definitely worth checking out.

  1. Makeup geek is a brand I’ve wanted to try for some time now and just haven’t gotten around to it, I love the idea of the palette though as Makeup Geek are reasonably priced so it would be easy enough to fill 🙂 x
