5 Places I want to visit in Europe

After returning from a holiday I think it’s always natural to have a bit of the travel bug. So of course after our trip to Berlin I’ve been feeling the wanderlust! Over the past three years Mark & I have visited quite a few European cities, but I feel like there are still so many beautiful I’d love to go to. So in today’s post I’m going to talk about my top five European cities that are next on my list.

Amsterdam – I think of the most famous European cities, this is the main one which I’m yet to visit. I love the aesthetic of Amsterdam, and also the fact that it holds a lot of history. I know that Mark & I would enjoy visiting the Anne Frank house, as well as perusing the little winding streets of the city!

Kraków – I’ve always toyed with the idea of visiting Poland, but after learning a lot about the history of WW2 whilst in Berlin, we were convinced we HAD to visit Krakow next. Eastern Europe is somewhere I have touched on at all yet, so this would be a totally new experience.

Reykjavik – The capital of Iceland has fast become a very popular destination for city breaks, with good reason as it’s completely stunning. The northern lights is something I’ve dreamed of seeing since I was a little girl, and who wouldn’t want to visit the mud baths/hot springs?

Florence – I could happily spend weeks on end exploring the whole of Italy, I love their general outlook on life, their food and gorgeous architecture. But Florence is definitely the first on my list of Italian cities, famed for Renaissance art & architecture. There is so much going on in this beautiful city, I can imagine I’d feel right at home there.

Munich – Visiting Berlin made me fall in love with Germany, so it was inevitable I would want to go back and explore more German cities. The idea of going to Munich for Oktober fest is a real priority. The atmosphere, and the fact this city is bursting at the seams with culture very much appeals to me.

If you’ve been to any of these cities I’d love to hear all about it! Where are your favourite places to visit in Europe?

We are so lucky to live in a diverse continent with such variation in cultures, I hope I get to explore more of Europe in the coming years.

    1. How long did you spend in Florence? Did you find it to be an expensive city to visit?
I hope so 🙂 now I’m student again I won’t be travelling as often, but I’m hoping I’ll still be able to do one city break a year at least! Xx

      1. I go there every year because a friend of mine is studying there and I usually stay 3/4 days. Luckily she hosts me every time but if you book earlier the accomodation is not as expensive as other italian cities (such as Rome or Venice) plus, it’s easy to walk around the city so transportation won’t be a high cost. I would define it medium level price 🙂

  3. Reykjavik is definitely worth a visit. Although, the city centre itself isn’t that amazing, it’s all the nature and surrounding sights that make it worthwhile. Yes, you definitely need to try the hot springs!
On your list, I’m interested in visiting both Kraków and Munich as well. 🙂

  4. Brilliant picks and I would love to go to Iceland as I’ve seen wonderful locations from movies which I’m so desperate to explore and I’ve been to Amsterdam 5 years before and I’ve been to canals and ride over them and it was a fantastic trip and those canals are equally good when compared to grand canal from Venice
