♡ Step Outside with Birchbox June Edition ♡

IMG_2574

It seems as though summer is finally on it’s way here in England. This week the clouds have started to disappear and things seem to be hotting up (not as much as I would like.. but it’s a start!). The theme for this months Birchbox is so fitting for this time of year and I was very excited when this arrived on Friday.

For the month of June Birchbox have collaborated with the wonderful shoe company French Sole and the ‘theme’ is Step Outside. Birchbox say “June is all about making the most of the sunshine and celebrating the outdoors”.

The box includes an adorable French Sole shoe bag – which matches the pattern of your box (there were three different box variations this month). I’m really pleased with mine as it’s very bright and cheerful – it reminds me of liquorice all sorts! I am sure this little bag will come in really handy over the summer. Now lets take a look inside this months box!

English Laundry – No7 for Her Fragrance

This isn’t a brand I have heard of before but I think that is part of the beauty of Birchbox. It is a bright and fruity fragrance, but it’s not too overpowering. I tried this out over the weekend and this scent is so long lasting and I really like it. I think I am going to save this little gem for my carry on when we go to Zante in September.

Beauty Protector – Protect + Oil

Birchbox says “A hair elixir with a difference!” – well it’s definitely got my attention. I was intrigued by this oil as it claims to protect your hair against UV rays and heat damage. So again, I think this product will be really useful when I head off on my summer holiday.

Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24hr Mascara

Well now that name is a bit of a mouthful isn’t it? I was really pleased to have a mascara sample in my box, mascara is one of those products I love trying out! The mascara market is very crowded so it’s nice to try something I’m not 100% familiar with. I am excited to try this mascara as it’s meant to be curl boosting, which is exactly what my lashes need.

Balance Me – Super Moisturising Body Wash

This award winning wash uses natural ingredients to soften, cleanse and hydrated the skin – according to Birchbox. As I have mentioned before, I do suffer with dry sensitive skin so it’s a real treat to receive a more high end body wash that it catered towards my skin type. It smells incredible and I can’t wait to give it a proper test run.

Yes To Cucumber Face Wipes

Weirdly enough, the day before my Birchbox arrived I was actually in my local Boots store eyeing up the Yes To range – I was undecided whether to give them a try or not. So this was a pleasant surprise. These wipes are 95% natural, which is amazing in comparison with the cheap wipes that I used back in the day. Sadly I used one last night to remove my make up & it actually made my skin under my eyes very sore. I think I will give them another try to be 100% sure that’s what caused it, but I am pretty sure that’s what has upset my skin.

June Extra Beauty Bonus – STYLondon Temporary Metallic Tattoos

This was not what I was expecting at all, but I think these temporary tattoos are fab and I absolutely love the look of them. My previous experience with temporary tattoos was far less glamorous so I am stoked to try these out. I feel like they would be really great for the festival season and I will definitely be sporting them when I head to Reading Festival in August.

I am pleased with this months Birchbox as it’s full of some really interesting products, most of which will come in handy for my trip to Zante later this summer as well as Reading Festival in August!

I am thinking of trying out some other beauty boxes – so I would love to know which ones you have tried/ would recommend?

  1. I’m a subscriber to glossybox but I have also just started up a subscription with pink parcel I haven’t received my first one yet but some of the previous boxes look really good x

  2. Great review and great box – you got some of the same products as me and some different. I got the hair oil too and I’ve been using it the past few days and it is lovely – this is my first experience of a hair oil and I am impressed. It has quite a thick oil consistency, smells beautiful and leaves my hair so smooth and frizz free xxx

    1. Ooh I’m glad you are getting on well with it! I think I might keep one bottle for my holiday then use the other bottle now. So I’ll let you know how I get on 🙂 thanks for reading Em xx

  3. I experienced exactly the same with the wipes! Was super excited, and it does clean my face well, but always leaves the skin under the eyes very sore! I think I’ll do a review on this tomorrow as well, if you want to compare haha

  4. Ooh I like the tattoos a different design set to mine! I was subbed to glossybox for 2 and a half years and wouldn’t recommend it in general – started with brands like illamasqua and mostly high end, ended with samples of budget products. I love love me beauty (pick from a large range of products and brands) or my little box (French box, so get an smaller but good array of products and often unusual brands) x
