Budget Beauty Finds | Lip Liners

Lip liners are one of those products which I tend to stick with drugstore products, as I feel that the high end liners aren’t that different and it’s not really worth the massive jump in price. As nice as it is to have a Charlotte Tilbury or MAC lip liner, if I can get something just as good for a quarter of the price I’m definitely going to stick with the drugstore option.

Today I’m going to talk to you about my three favourite lip liners from the drugstore, all of which I use on a very regular basis. I feel as though I could not replace these three liners and they do just as good a job as their high end counter parts.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lip Liner in Spice – At just £2.99 this lip liner is a real steal. The application is a dream and you don’t need to use much pressure to achieve a nice smooth line. This liner is the perfect partner for MAC’s Velvet Teddy as it is a lovely warm toned nude with an almost terracotta undertone. I find using this liner really prolongs my lipstick and doesn’t dry out my lips.

KIKO Smart Lip Pencil in 702 – This beauty cost me around £1.30 and is the best coral/red lip liner I own. It isn’t as creamy as the Rimmel lip liners but the formula is still really easy to work with. The formula is very comfortable on the lips. I like to wear this with MAC Crosswires & Viva Glam I.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob – Probably the most talked about drugstore lip liner in the beauty blogging community, but with good reason. Trust me, this product really is worth the hype. It is the most gorgeous nude toned pink and is such a bargain at just £3.99. It is self sharpening which of course is always a bonus and the slanted tip makes for really easy application, especially if you are wanting to fill in your lips.

  1. Although I love my charlotte tilbury lip liner, i use Rimmel Lasting finish 063 black tulip a lot (it’s red not black like the name suggests) x

  2. Totally agree about not spending the big bucks on lip liners (or eye pencils for that matter). My fave lip liners are maybeline ‘color sensational’ velvet beige for nudes and natural lips, Rimmel ‘Lasting Finish’ 004 Indian Pink for hot pinks, and Boots Natural collection ‘Lip lines’ in cinnamon perfect for reds, browns and darker shades. They are all great and I don’t think I paid more than £3 for any of them!

  3. I find it hard to hand over a lot of cash for lip liners as high street dupes are just as good, and you rarely see a difference in quality I think! The one color I did spend money on was a red lip liner, but that was mainly because I rarely do red lips so knew it would last me a long time!

    Fab post 🙂

  4. To be honest, I am too lazy to use lip liners on most days. I will use one with a liquid matte because they are difficult to apply without a liner. I’ve been using Lord & Berry which is reasonably priced. Thanks for sharing your picks, they all look/sound enticing.
