My First Glossy Box!

IMG_9272

After feeling slightly disheartened with my October Birchbox (click here for my full post) when I received an email from Glossy Box offering me three full sized samples as well as their October box, I couldn’t resist! I have heard very mixed reviews of Glossy Box but I thought it was time I tried something new. I love the idea of subscription boxes as it’s a great way of discovering new brands and products, and the value of the box is usually a lot more than the price you pay which is always good news.

Glossy Box is a monthly subscription which costs £10.00 plus P&P. Their boxes usually contain a mixture of full sized products and sample sizes, but this months box is made up of five full sized products. When this lovely pink box arrived on my door step I was super excited to see what was inside!

Lanolips Hand Cream (£8.99) – Hand cream is not usually my thing but this being antibacterial as well as intensely hydrated will be great for me to use whilst at working as I’m constantly in & out of gloves as well as washing my hands. It is a really generous size so I will definitely be keeping this one in my handbag.

Nicka K Blending sponge (£6.50) – I’ve actually been considering purchasing a Beauty Blender so this product came at the perfect time. The dome shape is said to work really well so reaching the nooks around the nose to create a streak free finish.

So Susan Highlighting Pencil (£15.00) – This is a new brand for me, and also a totally new concept. I think I will use this peachy hued highlight for highlighting my brows and the inner corner of my eyes.

Talika Photo-Hydra Day (£24.85) – I always love trying new skincare products, especially more luxury brands. This moisturiser is deeply hydrating and also contains plumping Hyaluronic acid to keep your complexion hydrated and perfectly primed. I think this will work well to prep my skin before wearing a full face of make-up so I look forward to trying it out.

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Curl Mascara (£17.95) – If you have been reading my blog recently you’ll know I have been looking for a new mascara, so it seems as though Glossy Box read my mind. I love the cute packaging of this product, it instantly grabbed my attention.

I also received my three extra products on the same day, also I’m not sure I will get as much use for these! The products were Yves Rocher Cocoa & Raspberry hand cream, Bella Pierre super gloss in the shade Clementine Citrus and Toni&Guy Shine Gloss serum.

All in all I was very impressed with Glossy Box. The presentation of the box was really simple and sleek, and the products in my box were all things I will get lots of use from. The total value of this month’s box was £73.29, which is crazy considering how much the subscription costs. I am definitely going to keep this subscription rolling for a few months as I’m really impressed so far.

  1. Damn 5 full sized products! I never got that treatment from GB in the 2 and half years I was subscribed. The reason I ended up unsubbing was because the cycle had started to go round on itself, I remember that Jelly Pong Pong mascara from a box probably 2 years ago. Hopefully you’ll get a good stint of products and you don’t end up finding it very samey month to month as I did in the end 😦

I love that Talika Moisturiser, I received it in another box – I swapped out my primer for a while and just used that, worked really well!

    1. The main reason I subbed was due to the 5 full sized products but I’m only going to keep it going for a few months to see how it goes, as I’m really contemplating trying cohorted! Xx

      1. Yes I’ve been looking at the cohorter boxes this month, they’ve teased the brands for next month and I think I’ll wait til December – they’ve upper the price from £20 to £35 and I don’t think I’ll be too bothered this month by the brands enough for that much! The one box I’ve had from them has been the best though! Xxx

  2. This box seems awesome, almost makes me want to subscribe! I was thinking about it but looking at past boxes they had in the US, I didn’t see much that I would want to get so I’m sticking with what I have now! xx
