Urban Decay NAKED Skin Concealer | The Review

A great concealer can be hard to find. There are some which claim to do it all – high coverage, creamy texture and crease free but sadly not all of them live up to these expectations. I’ve always been very dubious about trying high end concealers, so I spent a lot of time researching before I took the plunge.

The Urban Decay NAKED Skin concealer is very underrated, I think it’s overshadowed by the hype of the NARS Radiant creamy concealer (which I am yet to try, but is definitely next on my list). The UD concealer claims to give weightless complete coverage, it covers imperfections without looking covered up.

First of all, I would definitely recommend heading to your local UD counter to get colour matched for this product. The shade range is kind of confusing, which is one of the only downsides to this product. I wear the shade light neutral and it’s just right for my fair skin. I much prefer neutral toned concealers, they work well to cover my redness.

The formula of this concealer is really lovely as it is super creamy. A little goes a long way so although this concealer is more pricey at £17.50 this tube has actually lasted me a long time, I’ve had it for 3 months and I’ve still got plenty left. Having dry skin means I have to be quite cautious with concealers as they can sometimes make my skin worse, but this is so gentle and blendable. It sits really nicely on the skin, even under the eyes. I have noticed on my under eye area it can crease a little but if I set it with some powder it definitely stays put.

I would say the coverage is medium/full, you can build the coverage to your liking or sheer it out depending on application. As I’ve already mentioned I suffer a lot with patches of redness and this product works really well to neutralise and cover that. Recently when I’m having a good skin day I literally just apply this concealer to any blemishes or red areas and it evens out my complexion so well that I don’t need to really wear any foundation.

The Urban Decay NAKED Skin concealer is definitely miles above any concealers I’ve tried previously. I’d highly recommend trying it, especially if you have normal/dry skin. The NARS concealer is going to be my next purchase so I’m hoping to do a comparison post in the future – let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in.

Have you tried the UD concealer? What is your holy grail concealer?

  1. I have heard some reviews on this on tutorials and I really want to try it! Shame it is a bit more pricey and i’m so happy with my MAC Pro Longwear I’m just going to hold off trying it for a bit longer. Lovely review though – very tempting! 🙂 Glad you love it. Xx

  2. Love this concealer! I agree about going to get colour matched, I ordered mine online and it’s too light. It’ll work but next time I’ll get matched! Great post!

  3. I so want to try this concealer but yeah the shade range is pretty confusing! I really need to get shade matched! I am nearly finished my Nars one which is amazing but I have been desperate to try this one!

  4. This was a very useful post. I suffer with really bad dry skin on my forehead and nose, and even with my avon BB cream I still get dry patches. I might just have to try this, even if it is a tad pricey.

Lovely blog, btw. I’ve just started and I’m a little nervous, so thank you for the like 🙂

      1. On me it’s not drying at all my lovely Lu! But again, I don’t have dry under eyes! 😕 Maybe you should get a good eye treatment as well since you’re going to London! The best of the best for me is the Kiehl’s Avocado one. A cheaper comes from Balance Me! And the ultimate eye treatment I’ve been so blessed to use at the moment, but would definitely break a few banks price wise, the Zelens Triple Action something something… ( quite the long name )

Here you have a review on the Balance Me one here if you want to make an idea on it! http://anniesbeautyblog.com/2015/04/23/balance-me-wonder-eye-cream-simple-things-that-simply-work/

But keep your eyes on my blog because I will definitely post reviews for the other two ones soon! 😉

      2. Ah thanks Annie that’s so helpful, to be honest I’m definitely lacking eye skincare products and I’ve wanted to try something from Kiehls for a while now so I think I may have to treat myself whilst in London ha xx

  5. I’ve been faithful to the NARS one for the past year, but I’m about to purchase the UD one to replace it (NARS is just about done). The NARS one seems to be a bit more coverage and a bit creamier from what I can tell when I swatch both of them in Sephora, but the true test will be when I get the UD one at home!

    1. What’s made you want to try the UD one instead? I’ve been debating about the NARS concealer for so long now! I’m heading to London next month so I think I will get colour matched and treat myself xx
