Tartelette Tease Palette | Swatches & Review

After mentioning this palette in many of my recent posts, I thought it was about time I put together my full review. Tarte is a brand which isn’t readily available currently in the UK, but some of their products are sold by QVC. It has quickly become one of my favourite products, and probably my most used eye shadow palette of late. It’s quite different to what I usually reach for, as I’ve never been very keen on rose/pink toned eyeshadows. But the cool toned pinks and plums in this palette are so different to any other eyeshadows I’ve tried.

The Tartelette Tease palette is a very travel friendly size, containing six shadows which have Tarte’s traditional Amazonian clay formula. The palette contains four matte shades and two shimmers, all of which are highly pigmented. The formula of these shadows is very high quality, I would say even better than my Urban Decay shadows. I sometimes have trouble with products creasing on my eyes but even without a primer these shadows stay in place. All of the shadows in the palette are very easy to blend, especially the matte shades. It may sound like quite an unusual observation, but these eyeshadows smell gorgeous.. they almost have a cocoa scent to them, which is always a nice bonus.

L – R: Whisper, Wink, Crush, First Kiss, BFF, Heartbreaker.

Whisper – This is a matte cream shade, which is perfect as a base lid colour. I like to wear this on days where I don’t want a full on eyeshadow look. It works well to even out the colour of my eyelids.

Wink – A neutral toned matte pink, and my favourite shadow from this palette. As you can see this shade is very well loved, I like to wear this on it’s own over the entire lid. It also looks really nice with the plum shade blended through the crease – which I did in my recent YouTube tutorial (click here to watch).

Crush – The first of the palette’s shimmer shades, Crush is an almost taupe toned gold which has stunning shimmer to it. The pigmentation of the shimmer shades is very impressive, and they look so pretty blended across the entire lid.

First Kiss – Rosey Taupe with a very fine shimmer, this is a very versatile shade which almost has a duo chrome effect to it. I would never have imagined myself using this kind of colour, but I have really been loving this over the past month.

BFF – A dark matte plum, which is the perfect way to darken up the eyes and add some depth. It is very pigmented, so only a small amount is required but I have found this shade really easy to blend for a nice smokey effect.

Heartbreaker – This a cool toned matte brown, which almost reminds me of milk chocolate. It’s the kind of shade that everyone needs in their collection and I’m sure I will get lots of use from this.

If you have the chance to try any Tarte eyeshadow products, I would highly recommend them. In comparison with Urban Decay, I would say the formula is even better and the Tarte palettes are actually slightly more affordable too. I also love the fact that this palette is predominantly matte shades, as I love to create a matte base and then add a little shimmer to complete the look.

Have you tried any products from Tarte? What is your favourite eyeshadow palette?
