Now these are my kind of nudes! I would be lost without a good nude lipstick, and as the saying goes good things come in threes. So here are my three most loved nude lipsticks (note: I’m unbelievably surprised I was actually able to narrow it down to three shades).
The Everyday Nude – MAC Viva Glam II (Satin): Viva Glam II is a lipstick I regularly reach for, especially as a day to day shade. It’s a classic nude with a peach undertone, which looks lovely on fair-medium skin. The Satin finish is of course long wearing, but also quite comfortable hence why I get so much wear from this shade.
The Bold Nude – Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita: Lolita is deep and dramatic shade, similar to MAC Whirl but with a more brown undertone. As this shade is darker I think it would suit all skin tones, but it’s not for the faint hearted. It’s a statement shade, and a beautiful one at that. The finish of the KVD liquid lipsticks is by far my favourite and I’d highly recommend trying them if you haven’t already.
The Classic Nineties Nude – MAC Velvet Teddy (Matte): How cliche of me, I know but I had to include my first nude in this post. Velvet Teddy is a lipstick I will always love, it looks bold against my fair skin during the winter months yet still works when I’m donning a more sun kissed glow. It’s a shade is worth all the hype that surrounds it, and it truly deserves the status as one of my ultimate nudes.

you simply cannot have a favourite nudes blog post without mentioning velvet teddy, I have to agree! I actually swatched the MAC Viva Glam II the other day and loved the feel of it – I think Satin formulas are really great because like you said, it’s not a cremesheen in which is doesn’t last as long, but it is still really comfortable to wear! xx

Great post. I really need to get Velvet Teddy and try a Kat Von D liquid lipstick! My favourite go to nude at the moment is ex-girlfriend from the Gwen Stefani Urban Decay collaboration. However I think the shade is now part of the regular lipsticks xxx

I love the formula. Ex-girlfriend is one of their sheer lipsticks, so it is really creamy and hydrating. It does need lots of touch ups but I prefer the feel of it than matte lipsticks xx
