Taylor Swift Inspired FOTD

I really enjoy watching YouTube tutorials and reading posts inspired by celebrity looks. I am no make up expert what so ever, so in the past I’ve been too scared to do these types of posts on my blog. But I wanted to give it a try, so I put together this simple and classic look which I think really captures the essence of Taylor’s style.

Base – Taylor always has flawless looking skin, so I decided to use my trusty MAC Studio Fix fluid in NC15. I applied this using my Real Techniques Buffing blush which is great for giving a flawless finish. For those areas needing additional coverage I applied Urban Decay’s NAKED Skin concealer, I also used this to conceal my under eye area. Once applied I like to blend this with a damp Real Techniques Complexion Sponge. I then used Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder to set my under eye concealer and mattify my t-zone.

Brows – Taylor’s brows are always very well groomed, but they aren’t particularly bold or dark. So I decided to go with my usual brow duo, Soap & Glory’s Brow Archery set with Benefit’s Gimme Brow. I used the highlight shade from Make Up Revolution’s Iconic 2 palette as my brow highlight.

Eyes – It is very rare that Taylor is seen without some major winged liner! I rarely wear liquid liner and doing this look made me realise why, I am so bad at wings.. You wouldn’t believe how long I spent just trying to get this eye liner to look right. I used Soap & Glory’s Supercat eye liner. Other than liner, Taylor tends to keep things pretty simple, but her eyes always look super bright. To mimic this I used an Essence white liner in my lower water line as well as using the MUR shade I mentioned above as my inner corner highlight. For mascara I went with Benefit They’re Real as Taylor tends to have quite dramatic fluttery lashes.

Cheeks – I don’t think Taylor really contours or highlights much, so I decided to keep it simple with my cheeks and added a bit of colour using my Soap & Glory Solar Powder Bronzer.

Lips – Winged liner and a bold red lip just go hand in & hand. Taylor’s most iconic looks always feature a bold red lip. I’ve been dying to feature this lipstick in a post since I picked it up last month, it’s MAC Lady Danger. The perfect bright red in MAC’s amazing matte finish. It isn’t the easiest lipstick to apply but it’s longevity makes it all worth it.
