Body Shop Pinita Colada Review

IMG_0429.JPG

I recently attended an event at my local Body Shop for the launch of the new summer collection – The Pinita Colada range (click here to see my full post about the event). At the time unfortunately the store had sold out of a few of the new items, but of course I had to go back & treat myself. I’ve been trialling the shower gel and fresh body sorbet over the last few weeks and thought I would share my thoughts with you.

The Pinita Colada range captures the essence of summer. From it’s turquoise to yellow ombre packaging, to it’s sweet tropical scent. I am a huge fan of beauty and body products involved coconut, so this range is right up my street. As with last years Virgin Mojito range, this summer collection is limited addition so it will only be around for the next few months.

I’m going to start off with the Shower Gel which retails for £4.99 for 250ml. I like the texture of this shower gel as it’s not overly runny, so it’s easy to dispense the perfect amount. It lathers up exceptionally well, so only a small amount is required. The scent translates very well onto the skin, and just made me feel like I was on a tropical holiday. At first glance this product may seem slightly overpriced, but when you consider that the LUSH shower gels at £4.99 for 100mls it’s actually quite reasonable.

The fresh body sorbet was the product I was most eager to try after seeing Zoe Sugg rave about it in a recent video. I’ve not tried any of the Body Shop sorbets before so this is a completely new concept for me. The Body Shop says this is a fresh feeling body moisturiser, which has a light texture and should absorb more quickly into the skin than a body butter. The sorbet has a light and cooling texture which feels refreshing on the skin. It definitely absorbs much more quickly into the skin, which is a huge plus for me as I hate waiting around for my moisturiser to sink in. The Sorbet is priced at £8.00 for 200ml which I think is again very reasonable.

Overall I am very impressed with the range so far, particularly with the Body Sorbet. I just love how fast it absorbed into my skin, and I feel like this would be a great product to use on holiday. If you enjoy sweet scents, or you are looking to try some new body products I would definitely recommend checking out the entire Pinita Colada range from the Body Shop.

  1. I really need to go and smell this as the Virgin Mojito range last year was one of my absolute favourites! Is it overly coconutty as i’m not a massive fan of strong coconut smells? I always buy the shower gels so I think I’m going to have to pick one up if I like the scent! xx
